1. Cookies and similar technologies
This policy describes browser storage used by the GoldenKey Locksmith Wimbledon website and the external services included in its pages. It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information, purposes, retention criteria and rights.
Cookies are small values that a service can place in a browser and receive with later requests. Some last only for a browsing session; others remain until their expiry or removal. Local storage is a separate browser feature that lets a website save values between visits. A local-storage entry does not expire automatically unless the website or browser takes action.
The site you are visiting and a service embedded within it may operate under different domains. Browser settings can affect whether third-party storage is allowed. Blocking cookies does not necessarily stop an embedded service loading, or prevent its provider from receiving an IP address and request information.
2. The preference saved by GoldenKey’s website
The website’s own JavaScript writes one local-storage item when you acknowledge the cookie information notice. It remembers the acknowledgement, rather than holding the contents of an enquiry.
| Name and type | Purpose and contents | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
goldenkey_cookie_notice_v1Local storage set by this site | A timestamp recording a press of “Got it”. It tells the site whether to display the notice again. It does not contain your name, telephone number, email address or form answers. | Recognised for 180 days. If it is expired or invalid on a later visit, the site removes it and shows the notice. You can remove it sooner through browser settings. |
The entry belongs to the particular website origin and browser profile. A preview domain, another device or a private browsing session can therefore show the notice independently. Where local storage is blocked, dismissing the notice still works for the current page but may not be remembered on the next page.
No separate analytics platform or advertising pixel has been added to GoldenKey’s website code. That does not make third-party services cookie-free. Hosting infrastructure and embedded providers can operate independently of the first-party preference listed above.
3. Services embedded in the pages
The form and map are available without an extra privacy interaction. Their providers can receive technical data when they load. Provider behaviour may vary with enabled features, browser settings, existing cookies, account sign-in and later service changes.
| Provider or feature | When it is used | Function and information |
|---|---|---|
| Jotform | The supplied script loads directly on all main and location pages | Hosts and displays the enquiry form, validates input and handles submission and supporting features. Read Jotform’s privacy policy. |
| Jotform page-URL widget | Included with the enquiry form | Intended to attach the containing page’s URL to the enquiry so its source can be identified. The widget is supplied by Jotform. |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Included in the form’s human-verification feature | Helps assess automated activity. Google documents a necessary risk-analysis cookie called _GRECAPTCHA when reCAPTCHA executes. See Google’s guidance. |
| Google Maps | The contact page embeds the supplied business listing | Displays an interactive map. Storage and recognition of existing account preferences depend on Google and the browser. See Google’s cookie information. |
Form loading and submission
Jotform is contacted before you send an enquiry, because the browser needs to retrieve the form. Submitting then sends the information you enter through the form’s configured workflow. Human verification can require additional interaction. The standalone form link also opens Jotform and does not bypass the provider’s privacy arrangements.
Map loading
The Google Maps iframe uses browser lazy loading. This can defer the connection until the map is near the visible part of the page, but it is not a consent gate. Google may receive request information and recognise existing provider storage where your settings allow. Opening the map externally takes you to Google’s own service.
This is an inventory of the integrations and of the preference our own code writes, not an exhaustive fixed list of all provider cookies. Third-party names and lifetimes can change. Use the linked provider notices and your browser’s current site-data view for the items relevant to your session. Google’s privacy policy explains its wider processing.
4. What “Got it” means
The cookie information notice is included on every page. It is shown until a valid acknowledgement is remembered. Selecting “Got it” dismisses the notice and records the timestamp described above. It does not give consent to optional storage, delete existing cookies, stop the form, block the map or change settings held by Jotform or Google.
The footer’s “Cookie information” control reopens the notice. Reopening does not remove the saved timestamp; acknowledging again replaces it with a new one. The notice is not a category-based consent manager and does not contain “accept all” or “reject all” controls.
UK storage and access rules require consent where the particular use does not fall within an applicable exception. An acknowledgement is not a substitute for consent where consent is required. The ICO’s storage and access guidance explains the rules. This notice explains what the website does; it does not alter those requirements.
5. Your browser and provider controls
Most browsers provide settings for cookies, site data and third-party tracking. The available controls and menu names differ. Look in the browser’s privacy settings or help for options to view stored data, remove it or restrict future storage.
- To reset GoldenKey’s notice, delete this website’s local storage or clear its site data. The notice should reappear when a page is next opened.
- To remove provider storage, review the relevant Jotform and Google domains too. Removing the GoldenKey preference does not delete their cookies.
- To restrict future third-party storage, change the relevant browser permissions. Restrictions can affect verification, form submission or map functions.
- To change choices associated with a Google account, use Google’s own account and privacy controls. Our notice cannot change those preferences.
Clearing data and blocking future data are different actions, and private browsing is not a guarantee that a provider receives no technical information. You can contact GoldenKey by telephone on 020 8087 1476 or by email at info@goldenkeylocksmithwimbledon.co.uk if you prefer not to submit an embedded form.
6. Questions and changes
Contact GoldenKey Locksmith Wimbledon at 1 Quicks Road, London SW19 1EZ, email info@goldenkeylocksmithwimbledon.co.uk, or call 020 8087 1476 with questions about the notice. Personal-data requests and complaint options are described in our Privacy Policy.
This policy may change when the website, embedded features or provider arrangements change. The date above identifies the version. Provider documentation should be consulted for current information about technologies outside our own website code.
